Bummaroo Ford Campground

Get away from hustle and bustle of city life and get back to nature at the riverside Bummaroo Ford Campground. This back to basics, family-friendly camping spot is the only place in Abercrombie River National Park where you can bring your caravan or trailer. Water is not available at the campground, so you’ll need to bring your own supply for drinking and cooking. You’ll also need to take all rubbish home with you!

Take a hike along the Abercrombie River, but take your swimmers with you if you are visiting in summer ??? when the weather???s warm and the water levels are high, you???ll definitely want to take a dip. It???s also a great place for paddling if you???ve got a canoe or kayak.

It’s a wonderful place to appreciate nature, teeming with wildlife and you are likely to see kangaroos, wallabies and other creatures while exploring the area. In spring the bush comes alive with gorgeous blooms, attracting numerous birds and as the weather warms the frogs become active. They will serenade you enthusiastically at night. Sit quietly by the waterholes at dusk and there’s a fair chance you’ll see a platypus or two.
